The authentic and rustic charm of old stone walls is created by the harmonious distribution and aggregation of spaces between stone and mortar. The joint is a crucial component for the perfect outcome of a decorative wall with Biopietra stone. The space between the stones should not be less than 4/6 cm to seem real as shown in photo (1) above. A wall with very tight joints doesn’t look natural and over time will never appear to be authentic and realistic. For a good aesthetic result and in order to obtain a realistic effect, it is important to maintain the recommended width of the joints indicated for each item. Therefore those who want tighter grouting joints with respect to the one recommended (conventional joint) we suggest to purchase a larger amount of stones from a maximum of 20% to a minimum of 10%.
