Many products must bear the CE marking before they can be sold within the European Union. Essentially, this mark certifies that the product has been assessed by the manufacturer and complies with EU requirements regarding safety, health, and environmental protection.
Moreover, CE marking is required for products manufactured anywhere in the world, as long as they are marketed within the EU. For this reason, Biopietra sees CE marking not only as a legal requirement, but also as a concrete commitment to quality, transparency, and sustainability.
CE marking is mandatory only for products covered by harmonised European specifications. For example, eco-friendly reconstructed stone cladding falls into the category of products that require CE marking.
Additionally, some products may be subject to multiple EU regulations at the same time. Therefore, before affixing the CE mark, it is essential to ensure that the product meets all applicable requirements.
On the other hand, it is prohibited to affix the CE mark to products that do not require it or are not covered by harmonised specifications.
European regulations may require the product to be tested by a Notified Body. When applicable, the CE mark must be accompanied by the identification number of the body that carried out the assessment.
Although this procedure is not mandatory for all products, it is strongly recommended to request the CE certificate for reconstructed stone products, as they are among the categories for which compliance is generally required.
